The NATE Ready-to-Work Certificate is designed for technicians who are new to the HVAC field and is the first step towards any NATE Certification. This certification covers essential job skills, HVAC system components, tools, measurements, heat transfer, and both general and electrical safety.

The Ready-to-Work exam assesses fundamental job knowledge and skills for entry-level technicians, focusing on component identification, tools, measurements, electrical safety, general safety, and basic heat transfer. This exam and certificate are specifically for entry-level HVAC technicians and are not intended for system designers, sales personnel, or engineers. Passing the Ready-to-Work Exam is required to earn the Ready-to-Work certificate.
